14 days, considered carefully

We stand by our pieces. Every return is inspected with care by our Strasbourg team. The policy below is strict by design — it protects the quality of what we make and what the next customer receives. It is fully compliant with French consumer law (Code de la Consommation).

The 14-day withdrawal window

You have 14 calendar days from the date of delivery to notify us that you wish to withdraw from your purchase, in accordance with Article L.221-18 of the French Consumer Code. After this window, returns are no longer accepted except under the legal conformity guarantee (see below).

Conditions of acceptance

For a return to be accepted, every one of the following conditions must be met:

If any of these conditions is not met, the return is refused. The piece is then shipped back to you at your cost.

Return shipping — at your charge

Return shipping is the customer's responsibility, as permitted by Article L.221-23 of the French Consumer Code. Please use a tracked method: we cannot be held liable for parcels lost or damaged in transit on their way back to us. Keep your proof of postage until the refund has been processed.

Refund timing

Once your parcel arrives and the piece passes inspection, we issue the refund to the original payment method within 14 days of receipt at the latest, in accordance with Article L.221-24. Your bank may take a few additional days to display the credit on your statement.

Final-sale items

The following items are excluded from the right of withdrawal, as permitted by Article L.221-28 of the Consumer Code. No refund is issued on:

Damaged or defective on arrival — a separate rule

If your piece arrives damaged or presents a manufacturing defect, this is handled under the 2-year legal conformity guarantee (garantie légale de conformité, Article L.217-3 of the Consumer Code), not under the 14-day withdrawal. In this case:

This is the only case in which refunds are issued outside the 14-day withdrawal window.

Exchanges

Exchanges are allowed within the 14-day window only. In practice we treat an exchange as a standard return (customer pays return shipping, standard conditions apply) plus a new order placed separately. This keeps stock availability honest and avoids you waiting for a piece that may already be sold.

How to initiate a return

  1. Email returns@vaiyn.com within 14 days of delivery, with your order number and the piece(s) you wish to return.
  2. We reply within 1–2 business days with the return address and a short checklist confirming the conditions above.
  3. Pack the piece in its original VAIYN pouch and packaging, hang tag attached, and ship via a tracked service of your choice — at your cost.
  4. On receipt, we inspect the piece. If every condition is met, your refund is issued within 14 days. If a condition is not met, the piece is shipped back to you at your cost.
